Procrastination: The thief of time

Hard work pays off after time, but laziness pays off now.

Of course, times have been anything but lazy since you all last heard from me, oh, three months ago. Things have been hectic and blogging has been a low priority. From the top down:

I am now engaged: Stephanie, God knows, why, said yes, and we will likely be getting married next spring or summer, whenever we finish the school year. This means I am going to be moving north and living in Birmingham, taking classes at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Stephanie is getting back into the classroom after a two-year hiatus and will be in a nursing program. We are going to be extremely busy.

Birmingham means I am leaving my well-beloved Gulf Coast (the waters anyway. I despise Mobile and everyone in it.) As a consolation, I will be taming the whitewater and rapids of the state's northern rivers. If I can handle sea kayaking, a little Class III action should be a piece of cake.

Since we will be living on or near some of Stephanie's family's property, she's going to be putting my butt on a horse a bit more often. What does Sheebah think?

Are you fucking kidding me? Fatass.

School has gone well; now that I'm no longer rotting in retail hell, I don't have to study until 2 am anymore and am doing incredibly well. I don't even have to hit the sauce to tolerate calculus anymore. Might even scrape an A. Hopefully I can build my GPA back up from last fall's debacle so that I have a good strong showing to take to the College of Engineering at UAB next spring. I'm going to be moving north right after fall finals, so I'll have just a couple of weeks to get settled in before starting classes again.

Money (or at least the terminal shortage of it) has put a stop to my ambitions with the Toronado again. Going to tow the fucker north and carry on when I can. Hopefully one of my in-laws to be can grant me a bit of garage space to press on.
